Embedding University-Community Engagement:

The Manchester Beacon Summit 2010

Staff, students and community groups are invited to a series of events that will explore ways in which univeristies have been supported to engage with local people. The 3-day summit is organised by the Manchester Beacon, a partnership of local universities and cultural organisations that aims to inspire a culture change to ensure public and community engagement become a valued and recognised part of everyday life. Lessons and recommendations for the Universities gleaned from the first two years of the programme will be shared along with more recent experiences from pilot project activity delivered in collaboration with cultural and community partners.
